A new system is a different job from a repair. Repair keeps what you have running. Install is the day we take the old equipment out, set the new equipment, connect it to ducts and power (and gas, if the design still uses it), start it, and walk you through it. If you are here because a quote from someone else felt rushed, that is a fair reason to call us.

Who we are

BlueSky Heating & Air is family-owned by Ryan and Matthew Vallis. We install air conditioners, furnaces, heat pumps, ductless mini-splits, and the ductwork that makes them work — in Fairfield, Vacaville, Vallejo, Suisun City, Benicia, Dixon, Rio Vista, and nearby Solano County. C-20 license #1158490, fully insured, Sheet Metal Workers Local 104. An owner is on every job. Every installation is backed by our 100% workmanship guarantee. Call (510) 375-7839.

Sized for the house

We do not pick a unit from a truck and hope. Solano is not one climate. Inland cities in Climate Zone 12 — Fairfield, Vacaville, Dixon, and most of the valley side — need cooling that can hold a high-90s design day. Vallejo sits in Climate Zone 4, with marine layer and milder peaks. Benicia is milder most days and still sees heat waves. A system that “worked for the last house” is not a size. We look at the house: orientation, shade, insulation, existing ducts, electrical service, and how you actually use the rooms. If the ducts are the weak point, we say so before we set a new condenser on a leaky attic. Custom ductwork is our union sheet-metal trade, not a sub we never meet.

What the process looks like

What the process looks like. First visit is the estimate: we inspect what is there, talk through options — stay with AC plus furnace, move to a heat pump, or go ductless in an older Vallejo or Benicia house — and give you a written number. We mention financing when it is useful; we do not bury the price in a payment. Permits are part of a real install in these cities. We do not skip them.

Install day: we protect floors, recover refrigerant from the old unit the legal way, set the new equipment, braze and evacuate the lines, charge to the manufacturer’s process, and commission the system. Then we walk you through the thermostat, the filter size, and what “normal” sounds like. If something is off at startup, we stay until it is right. That is the point of an owner on the job.

This is not a repair visit

This page is not AC repair, furnace repair, or HVAC repair. Those are for a system you intend to keep. If you are not sure yet, start with a diagnosis. The same repair-versus-replace rule applies: under about 10 years with a contained repair, we usually fix it; 12–15+ years, R-22, or a repair over about a third of replacement, we will show you the install path. No driveway pressure.

Hours and related work

Shop hours are Monday–Saturday, 7AM–7PM. A failed system after hours is emergency HVAC — call the owners. We do not post Sunday shop hours. Tune-ups after the install are HVAC tune-up. If the ducts themselves are filthy or disconnected, that is a separate conversation: duct cleaning when cleaning is the need, sheet-metal repair when it is not.

Frequently asked questions

How long does a typical HVAC install take?
Most changeouts are a one-day job if the ducts and electrical are ready. Older houses, panel upgrades, or new duct runs take longer. We will tell you the plan before we schedule, not after the truck is in the driveway.
Do you pull permits for a new system in Solano County?
Yes. Replacement and new installation are permitted mechanical work in these cities. We do not treat a permit as optional. If your city needs extra inspections, we build that into the schedule.
What does the 100% workmanship guarantee cover?
Our work on the installation — how it was set, connected, and started. Equipment still has the manufacturer’s warranty. If our workmanship is the problem, we make it right. Call (510) 375-7839.
